What is Frog Juice and When Should I Use It?

Frog Juice is a UV protective spray that can be applied to wood, acrylic, or PatternPly®. It helps keep colors bright and helps prevent any surface chipping that may occur with heavy handling of PatternPly®. We only recommend applying Frog Juice if you are making something that will be heavily handled/abused (like a keychain) or something that will be going outside. Earrings do not need Frog Juice, nor does indoor signage or decoration. 

From the manufacturer: Frog Juice 7000 Sunscreen Clear is a versatile liquid lamination coating that provides excellent UV protection and edge-sealing properties, and is suitable for use over a wide variety of surfaces including gold leaf, vinyl, enamel receptive banners, water-based paints, latex and solvent paints, digital prints and more. Frog Juice dries very hard over time, yet remains flexible. It will not yellow. Requires no hardener or catalyst. Achieves maximum hardness slowly over 30 days, yet is ready to handle and place outdoors in 30 minutes.
